DavCo is looking for management
candidates who have a passion for the restaurant business. We seek
individuals who are looking for a long term career, not just a short
term job. DavCo's behavior based selection process is designed to
identify proven winners who are dedicated to growth; personal, professional
and company.
DavCo utilizes a "two interview"
selection process. After an applicant has expressed interest in
the Company and has been pre-screened, he/she will have a first
interview with a DavCo Employment Manager. The purpose of the first
interview is to determine the candidate's qualifications and his/her
ability to manage a restaurant.
Qualified candidates will then be
referred by the Employment Manager to a District Manager (a multi-unit
supervisor) for a second interview. During the second interview,
the District Manager will determine whether or not the candidate
is likely to be successful in his/her area. If the District Manager
is interested in the candidate, he/she will be scheduled for PESA.
PESA
stands for "Pre Employment Skills Assessment." The candidate is
brought on board for a one to two-week trial period. During this
period the candidate will follow the first weeks of the management
training program. The first day of PESA is an orientation to the
company, the program and benefits. The orientation is held at the
corporate office. Candidates who are still employed elsewhere may
not want to leave that employer until PESA is completed. PESA should
last (5 - 10) shifts and can be worked around the candidate's current
work schedule. The purpose of PESA is to allow the candidate an
opportunity to experience the DavCo Management program before committing
to coming on board. The District Manager is also assessing whether
the candidate has what it takes to be successful. At the end of
the first weeks, an evaluation is done. If the experience was positive
for both parties, a job offer is made contingent on the candidate
passing a pre-employment background check
Upon successful completion of the
background check process, the candidate is made a formal job offer.
DavCo uses a "flex" recruiting program that matches a candidate's
experience and qualifications. The level a candidate qualifies for
will determine the management level and salary range he/she may
be offered.
The candidate then becomes a full
time "Manager In Training" (MIT) and participates in the full DavCo
Management training program designed to provide successful professional
growth.
