JOB TITLE: Manager in Training
LOCATION: Maryland, Northern Virginia,
and Washington, D.C.
TRAINING: Ten weeks. A comprehensive
program combining both on the job training, in one of our certified
training units, and one week of classroom instruction. You will
learn the DavCo Management Philosophy, Standards of Operation (Quality,
Service and Cleanliness - Q.S.C.), administrative responsibilities,
financial management and human resource management. Managers in
training are under the direct supervision of the on the job training
unit's management team. The Field Training Manager and your District
Manager will monitor and assist in your on the job training. The
Training Instructor conducts your classroom training. All managers
in training go through food handler's certification as part of their
classroom training.
WORK SCHEDULE: You are scheduled
for a (5) day work week The number of hours actually worked each
week will depend on a number of factors; business patterns, strength
of the manager, staffing levels, etc. Ours is a rotating schedule
system including days, evenings, and weekends. Every effort is made
to schedule you off one weekend per month.
MANAGEMENT DRESS CODE: Managers
are required to wear short sleeve, light pastel solid color oxford
type button down collar shirts or blouses, solid color dress or
Dockers type slacks, black or brown leather shoes (which may be
polished). Anytime you report to the corporate office you should
be in proper attire.
EVALUATIONS: Managers are evaluated
quarterly, based on calendar quarters, in the following categories:
Operating Results (Q.S.C.), Financial Management, and Human Resource
Management. Promotions and merit increases are determined from these
evaluations.
COMPENSATION: Managers will receive
their paychecks every two weeks on Tuesday. The pay period begins
on Monday, and ends on Sunday. All merit pay raises for management
personnel are based on the fiscal year. Managers are eligible for
their merit increase in October and all managers participate in
a bonus program based on sales and profits. When a promotion occurs
a salary increase accompanies the promotion.
